From those childhood nights spent hiding from thunderstorms huddled beneath your covers as the wind howled like an angry banshee during thunderstorms (never an ideal childhood experience!), towering waves threaten your ship from capsize, perpetual darkness cast an eerie shadow over every uncharted island and constant darkness makes for an alluring landscape; though even rough seas hold some allure!

The Shores of Plenty

And when the chaos becomes too much to bear, The Shores of Plenty await. The name speaks for itself - this region is known for its calm waters, sandy beaches, and abundance of resources, like a paradise on earth, pretty much how people think about Caribbean islands. This is a good starting point for new players, maybe the best. Lush greenery, crystal-clear waters, and an overwhelming sense of serenity wash over you as you sail into this tropical paradise. Restock supplies, repair sails or store hard-earned treasure in safekeeping here but be wary not to become complacent; adventure awaits just beyond the horizon.

The Ancient Isles

The Ancient Isles is probably the harder region of the three and comes with more rewards at higher risks. Visually, it is as beautiful as the others but it offers a different landscape that has consequences for gameplay, too. Here, volcanic landscapes are all around, and you can see treacherous waters and strong currents. It could be a little more frustrating but the potential of rewarding gameplay is there. Overall, Sea of Thieves presents plenty in terms of exploration, graphics, strategic gameplay, player vs player, and atmosphere.
